Roses are smiling in gardens fair,
Filling with fragrance the balmy air,
Wonderful beauty and joy to share,
Roses are smiling at you
Words from "Wedding of the Flowers," a children's operetta performed by my 7th grade class at Botetourt Elementary School in the early fifties.
I love the photos that illustrate those words that I'll wager have been lodged in your brain for the past however-many years...
ReplyDeleteWonderful roses. I can almost imagine a 7th grade operetta. What an undertaking! I'm so impressed. (By the roses and by the thought of the performance.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this with us. I love it.
